Our class had a nice return to school after the winter break. In Religion, we jumped right into chapter 8 and learned about St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (whose feast day was on Monday, January 4th) and St. John Neumann (whose feast day was on Tuesday, January 5th). In Math, we learned/discussed Chapter 6, all about subtraction. In English Language Arts, we started to discuss words with the /ng/ endings and starting our "Daily 5" small groups, centering around reading aloud to yourself/someone, working on word groupings, listening/comprehending reading, and responding to prompts/writing. In Science, we discussed the process of how to create a science experiment (going from an idea, to testing it, then to a conclusion). We then completed our own science experiment in preparation for the Science Fair this coming week.
