Hello 1A families,
I hope that everybody is having a nice Valentine's Day/President's Day Weekend! This week, in Religion, we talked about the beginnings of the Church, as well as the beginning of Lent and the feast days of Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Valentine. Mr. Flores also visited our class on Thursday! During Math, we continued discussing displaying groups of tens and ones in multiple ways. In English Language Arts, we practiced sequencing, reading nonfiction works, and reading words with the /ch/, /th/ and /tch/ sounds.
Monday-No school due to President's Day
Tuesday-Gym Class; Technology Class; Minecraft Club (3:30pm)
Wednesday-Art Class; Chapter 11 Religion Test
Thursday-Spanish Class; Home and School General Assembly Meeting (7:30)
Friday-Topic 8 Math Test; Music Class; Stations of the Cross (2:30pm)
*I posted photos of our Valentine's Day celebration onto the website. Every child had a really nice time and enjoyed the cards they had received! Thank you for all of your assistance, parents!
*Boxtops are being collected again! Please feel free to send them in. They will continue to be collected until the end of February.
*As we enter into the Lenten season, our class has received our Catholic Relief Service Rice Bowl for Operation Rice Bowl. Each class has received their bowl with the hope that they can raise a $20 donation. However, the class who makes the most money will be getting a Dress Down Day! For more information about Operation Rice Bowl, please check out crsricebowl.org
*The Terra Nova testing will begin on Friday, February 26th and will continue on the 29th, March 1st, March 2nd and March 3rd. We have been spending time preparing, but each child will need sharpened #2 pencils and a nice eraser. They will also need to have eaten a good breakfast and have had a good night's sleep. Don't be late!
Thank You and God Bless You,
