Welcome to First Grade! I am looking forward to having your child in my class for this 2015-2016 school year. I also hope that we can be a team to support your child's successes, for that should be our main priority. I have high expectations for your child and I will do all I can to help your child achieve these goals. I anticipate a very conscientious, but fun and rewarding school year!
This is my official first year as a classroom teacher, but do not fear! Your child will have a reliable, persistent, passionate and welcoming First Grade teacher who will attempt do everything in her power to make this year important for your child. As a long-term substitute in the First Grade at Holy Family Regional Catholic School this past school year, I am well aware of the demands and the honors that come with this age group.
If you have not done so already, please take a peek at the school website for important "tidbits" you may need. Also, my page will be an assest to you throughout the year, for all news, forms, homework and all other important information will be posted there.
Do not forget:
* "Meet Your Teacher Day" is on Monday, August 31st at 2:00 pm. Feel free to bring some of your child's school supplies to lessen the work for the following day. The list of needed school supplies is located on the school website. Please make sure that all supplies are labeled and ready to be used.
* The first day of school is on Tuesday, September 1st. School will run from 8:30 am to 3:15 pm. I will provide each child with a bookbag tag to inform me of the way your child will be going home (CARES, car line or Bus #) so please fill out the card when it is given to you. If there happens to be a change in transportation, please call the office and send me an e-mail.
* Please make sure that you are sending your child in with a healthy snack for our morning break. As some children may have allergies, do send in nut-free snacks.
* "Back to School Night" will be on Wednesday, September 2nd from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. You will be given information about the school year in the church auditorium, then sent to the classrooms to review classroom information.
I look forward to getting to know yourself as well as your child this coming school year! Please feel free to contact me with any information you would like me to know.
See you on August 31st!
