*As we start the month of May, our class will be praying the rosary to honor the Blessed Mother. We will be spending time every Monday this month doing so. Each child should bring in a rosary, but I have many extra rosaries if needed.
*Treats will continue to be sold during lunchtime, starting at $.50, to support Catholic Charities.
*Each class will be collecting money for Legacy of Life, a foundation that supports two crisis centers in the Bucks County and Philadelphia areas. Their website can be found here.
*The Spring Concert will be taking place on Monday, May 16th at 7:00pm. The concert will have a patriotic theme, so every student in first grade is expected to wear a plain red, white or blue shirt (no designs), jeans and sneakers. Each student needs to wear their concert outfit to school on Monday for the Dress Rehearsal. Each child can be dropped off and picked up in the church. The Art Show will be taking place in the cafeteria as well.
*The next two Open Houses for St. Ignatius School will be taken place on Wednesday, May 18th from 9:00am-11:00am and from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
*The last Scholastic book order deadline for the year will be on Friday, May 20th. Both May and June magazines were given out.
*I am very excited to report that the entire first grade will be having their spring field trip at the Da Vinci Science Center, located at Allentown, PA. The Da Vinci Science Center's website can be found here. Our trip will be on Monday, June 6th. Each student needs to have a packed lunch, be wearing their gym uniform, and be at school by 8:30. We will return to school by 4:30.
*Our exams will be on the week of June 6th. Our Religion Assessment will be on Wednesday, June 8th. Our Math Assessment will be on Thursday, June 9th. The English Language Arts Assessment will be taking place earlier on Wednesday, June 1st. These assessments hold the same weight as another other test and will be averaged into their Third Trimester grades. Study sheets will be sent out this week so you can look over important information with your child as we will in class.
*Field Day will be taking place on Tuesday, June 14th. Each child should wear their gym shorts/pants and a white shirt. Our entire class is on the white team!
Thank You and God Bless You,
