Each year the second grade students participate in a Rainforest Project. Last week the children picked out three animals that they would be interested in researching for this project. Mrs. Ginter and I have reviewed the student’s choices and tried to give them one of their top choices.
The project has several parts. The first part is completed at school. We will begin to research the rainforest animal and take notes on index cards/or in our copybooks. At school we will also paint and work on the backdrop. Please send in a smock to use when we paint.
The second part is for the students to create a model of their animal. They may be creative here and make the animal out of any material. In past projects student have used cardboard cutouts of the animal, paint, fur, feathers, felt, and other items. The animals do not have to be life size, but should be at least 10” X 12” in size. This part is due on April 20th.
The third part of the project is a presentation about their animal. This part is due on April 28th. The presentation may be a poster, flip chart, tri-fold display, Google slide show, powerpoint, or any other form your child chooses to present their information. The presentation must include:
