Thank you for the donation of items for the “box of joy.” It was very generous of you to participate and I know that the children that receive the boxes will smile.
Thank you also to our room mothers Mrs. Kinney, Mrs. Schlieben, and the parents that helped with the Halloween party. The children really enjoyed all of the snacks and they had fun making one eyed monsters!
The students took their Unit 1 Reading Test last Friday. This test is on the reading skills learned in Chapters 1 to 5. The students used a test booklet and answer sheets. I did the first several stories in the test with the students to help them with the concept of writing answers on an answer sheet. We also used an index card to help them track their place on the test. I reviewed the test with the students today in class as the test booklets do not go home, as they contain the rest of the Unit Tests we will use this year. If you want to see the test you are welcome to stop in after school to review it.
This week we started Reading Chapter 6 in Unit 2. Because of the day off this week and next week the students will have the Spelling and Reading Chapter 6 Test on Thursday, November 10th.
We have been practicing for our Saint Parade on Friday, November 4th at the 9am Mass. The students will process into Church and present their posters during the Homily. Please send the student’s school uniform to school the their book bag. The student’s should come to school in their saint costume, and then they will get changed after Mass. Thank you for all you did to prepare the students and help with the project.
