Class Calendar & Homework
On November 4th, St. Ignatius of Antioch will host a spectacular Parade of Saints to celebrate the lives of all holy people who chose to follow Jesus and His Teachings and become role models for us all! Coming to participate in this year's parade are the following Saints:
St. Elizabeth of Portugal
St. Rose of Lima
St. Bernadette of Lourdes
St. Leo the Great
St. Michael the Archangel
St. Gabriel the Archangel
St. Thomas the Apostle
You won't want to miss this special event to honor our Saints! Hope to see you there!
DUE DATE: November 13, 2017
1. Create a Saint Introduction Poster with “Hello I am Saint _____________” and your Saint’s Feast Day on the front and three interesting facts on the back that are going to be easy for you to share for the Saints Parade on November 3rd (due November 2nd)
2. Create a Lapbook introducing your Saint. Your Lapbook should have the following:
A Cover – The cover should have a picture of your Saint, their name and their Feast Day. (The picture can be hand-drawn and colored or a copy from a Saint Book or Saint Card colored in.) Decorate as you choose.
Your Saint Introduction (The center of your lapbook) - This is the part of your project where you share the information you have chosen. This introduction should be in your own words (not straight from the internet or other information source) and tell the class the important information you think we should know about your Saint. The report needs to be handwritten. You will be receiving a handwriting grade as part of this project. The sides on the inside can be used to show any other pictures or Fun Facts you want to share.
(Remember to put your name on the back of each part of your project, check your spelling and indent your paragraphs. Also, remember to use capital letters where needed and remember to use correct punctuation.)
The most important thing about this report is to gather information about your Saint that you think the class should know and have fun yourself learning about your Saint. When the projects are complete, you will be the teacher, and share your project with the rest of us. I can’t wait to hear what you uncover and see the wonderful reports you design. You guys are such amazing detectives and are also incredibly creative!
***Remember to plan your costume because on November 3rd you get to be in The Saints Parade and share some fun facts about your Saint at First Friday Mass! Plan ahead as to what you are going to share that day.
Boys and Girls,
I want to tell you once again how amazing you were on our trip to the Shrine of St. Katharine Drexel! You were so reverent and were excellent role models of how to be true disciples of Jesus! St. Katharine was definitely smiling down as she watched you and I'm sure she will continue to watch over you as you prepare to receive your 1st Holy Communion! I could not have been more proud of you! From the time we boarded the bus until we arrived back at school, I could tell how much you appreciated this awesome pilgrimage set up by Mrs. DiTommaso! Enjoy your long weekend and I'll see you on Wednesday!
Take care and God Bless,
International Dot Day is a day allowing children and classrooms around the world to make a difference by Making their Dot on the world! We chose to "Dot" each classroom and office with a Smiley Face Dot which had our special message of "You Have Been Dotted! Have a Great Day!"! We also hoped to make each member of our school smile with a smaller version with a smile sticker in the middle of a mini doughnut with the same message! It was a HUGE success! In fact the bigger version are still posted on some of the doors to offices and classrooms!

Dear Parents and my Sweet Little Angels,
The last day of school... the closing of one door and the opening of another.
To my Parents: I say THANK YOU for allowing me to be your child’s teacher. It has been a wonderful and rewarding year for me. I will love your children always and be interested in all that they do! It was a great pleasure to have your children in my classroom this year and watch as their personalities unfolded day by day! We have lived, loved, laughed, played, studied, learned, and enriched our lives together this year! I give them back to you reluctantly because I wish I could keep them with me forever but I must pass them on to their new 3rd grade teacher so that they may continue their journey!
To my Sweet Little Angels: I want to thank each of you for all the warmth, the memories, and the learning that we have shared this school year. A little bit of each of you will always be with me. Although our time together has finished, our smiles will never fade! We won’t forget the times we’ve spent together, the things we have learned or the memories we have made! Thank you so much for a wonderful school year! I have had so much fun being your teacher, and I wish you the best of luck in all that you do! Remember to always do your best and to be kind to others! Always strive to be the BEST person that you can be! I am very proud of all of you and know that you will be awesome 3rd graders! Have a great Summer and make sure to visit me often! I will definitely miss you but know that you will always have a special place in my heart!
God bless you now and always!
