We have some very exciting news to share with everyone! Tomorrow we will be participating in a Global Collaboration Day Book Talk centered on the book "Rosie Rever, Engineer by Andrea Beaty & Becky Anderson! This is a beautifully-illustrated tale of a girl and her dream to become a great engineer. Where some people see rubbish, Rosie Revere sees inspiration. Here is how the project works: During the week of September 14 – 18, 2015 students at Cavanaugh STEAM and participating Global Collaboration Day partner schools will be studying the book Rosie Revere, Engineer and what it means to be a creative problem solver. In the book, Rosie solves a problem for her uncle (Zookeeper Fred) by inventing a hat to keep snakes off of his head. After reading and discussing the book, students will plan and create prototypes of their own hats that will solve a problem of their choice. Below are some pictures of us creating our "Problem-Solving" hats! We worked very hard and Mrs. G is very proud of our Teamwork and our ideas!
