I just wanted to share some news items for this month. First off, as a school wide Catholic Schools Week service project, each homeroom is assembling 2 birthday boxes - one for a girl and one for a boy - age appropriate for their grade. We will be decorating bakery boxes and placing inside different items needed for a birthday party. These boxes will be donated to the Catholic Social Services Bucks County Family Center in Levittown. Patrons who come into the center and don't have the funds to have a party for their child can take home a box. I made a Google Spreadsheet of items needed for our boxes with 13 line items so each child can sign up to donate one. You can access that form HERE. I will also have a copy posted on our website. These items should be in school by Monday, February 1st. Thanks for your generosity!
I wanted to let you know that Miss Watson and I booked a field trip for this Spring. Grades 3 and 4 will be going together to the Churchville Nature Center onTuesday, April 19th and we will be taking part in the Lenape Indian Village Program. The cost will only be $9.00 per student since we are using our $15 Home and School subsidy. A permission slip and info about chaperones will be sent out at a later date.
Please be sure to check out our 3rd grade website and our Kidblogs if you haven't seen them lately. We've completed several fun projects on the iPad this month that are posted in those places. We will also be posting our 100 Word Challenge writing pieces on Kidblog too.
Finally, today we were thrilled to use our brand new Chromebooks for the first time! The students couldn't believe how fast they were compared to the netbooks! We think they helped us be the winners in our Mystery Skype with North Dakota today. We guessed their state first and then we also guessed their city correctly before they guessed ours. We love the technology at St. Ignatius!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful children with me each day!
