As we wind down the school year I wanted to let you know a few things about the final week of school. Exams are finished and have all been marked. We went over them in class this past week and the children wrote their grades in their homework book. You can also see the grades on Option C. The children will be bringing home their workbooks and copybooks next week. Please note that their summer Math work for 4th grade is to do lessons in the Simple Solutions books so hang on to that. The other books can be used for extra summer practice to keep their skills sharp. I suggested that they pick one day a week over the summer and do some school work for 30 minutes or so rather then leaving it all for August.
Next week we will be finishing up some projects and cleaning up our classroom. Starting Monday, the children can bring in board games to play during the free time that they may have throughout the week. Tuesday is Field Day. The children should wear a white or red shirt depending on which team they were assigned to and their gym shorts or pants. They are forecasting warm weather so be sure they wear sun screen and they can bring in a water bottle and a hat if they want. We will be having a picnic lunch outside so they can also bring in a beach towel or blanket to sit on.
On Wednesday afternoon you are invited to come and watch the children perform 4 short Reader's Theater plays in the Cafeteria starting at 2:15 pm. We will have a little social after that. I got permission from Mrs. Di for the 3rd grade to dress down that day to wear clothes that go with their part. If all goes well, I am hoping to also do a Skype around 9 am with Mr. Ball's class in the UK that we exchanged Flat Stanley's with. Anyone who has a younger sibling in Kindergarten may attend their graduation on Wednesday morning. They should come to school at the regular time and I will send all of them over together before it starts.
Thursday is a regular school day. On Friday the students should not bring in school bags, just themselves. We will have Mass and I will give them their report cards. Please join us for Mass if you can. Dismissal is at 10:30 am.
Thank you for all of your well wishes about our trip to Italy and upcoming anniversary. We had a wonderful time and made many happy memories.
Thanks again for sharing your children with me this year! I really enjoyed my time with them and hope you all have a lovely summer.
