This month has really flown by! The children are doing a fantastic job getting settled into the routines and work load in third grade. Thank you so much for all of your Oreo donations! We had fun stacking them as a part of our Science project last week. Check out our website for photos. We also folded origami cranes with messages of peace written on them for International Peace Day. I was hoping to exchange them with a class in South Africa but that fell through so I am now looking for another international class. I am going to give the children an extra piece of origami paper that they can take home to show you how to fold a peace crane. There is a link to the website with a video on Wednesday night's homework.
This Friday we will be going on our field trip the the St. Katherine Drexel Shrine. We will leave school at 9:30 am and return to school by 12:30 pm for lunch back at school. The children will have time to shop in the gift shop so they may bring some money for that. I ask that anyone who wants to bring money along, please put it in an envelope with their name on it. I will be holding all of the money and passing it out to the children when it's our turn to shop.
Our first Science test will be next week on the 3 states of Matter and the Water Cycle. The children will have notes in their copybook to study. Keep an eye on the homework calendar for links to the online Quizlet to help them study the vocab words and other practice work. A good way to study at home is to review the questions at the end of each lesson and to go over the chapter review. If you need any help accessing websites for homework, don't forget that there is a page on our Grade 3A website under Documents with detailed information about how to login to each site.
Thanks again for all of your help and support at home!
