The Reading Olympics competition will take place on Wednesday, April 6th at Neshaminy High School in Langhorne (2001 Old Lincoln Highway Langhorne, PA 19047).
On April 6th, immediately after school, we will gather for group pictures, time on the playground, and practice, followed by pizza at 4:45 PM. We need to depart St. Ignatius no later than 5:15 PM in order to arrive by 5:40 PM, so please meet us in the Cafeteria by 5:05 PM (enter via the Blue Canopy); the first round will begin promptly at 6:00 PM.
Each team should report to their first round room when you arrive at the school (they will have a map and staff to guide us at the high school). Here are the room assignments for our two teams:
Turquoise Tigers (Mrs. O'Neill): F210, F221, F221
Page Turning Pandas (Mr. Merrick): F213, F217, F217
After the three rounds, the awards ceremony will take place in the final round's classroom with the competition being over by about 9:00 PM.
On the day of the competition, the students should wear their Reading Olympics t-shirt and school uniform (pants, shorts, skort, or skirt). The shirts will be distributed on Monday, April 4th.
We are all looking forward to this fun and exciting evening! Both of our teams earned blue ribbons last year, and we look forward to the Pandas and Tigers representing our school well! To prepare, the teams need to make sure that they have their books read and practice diligently at our meetings.
We will be meeting on Monday 3/14, Monday 3/21, and Monday 4/4 from 3:30 PM-4:30 PM in the 5th grade classroom.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Go Pandas and Tigers!
