Thursday- Take Your Child to Work Day
Dear 5th Grade Families,
Congratulations to both of our Reading Olympics teams for each earning a blue ribbon during last Wednesday's competition. Thank you to the parents for coming to support the teams.
Thank you to the students and chaperones for a great field trip this past Friday; I am also quite thankful that the weather remained nice for the entire day. I hope that the students had a productive and enjoyable time.
Our next field trip will be on Monday, June 8th to the Cathedral Basilica and Reading Terminal Market. If you have not signed up to go and would like to chaperone, please let me know by May 1st.
Wednesday is spring picture day; you will receive picture packets early this week. The students may dress as you wish for their pictures, keeping in mind the guidelines for dress down days. For the day of pictures, all that you need to do is send in the packet indicating the background and pose. You will receive the pictures after they are developed at which time you may keep them and send in payment, order more, or send them all back without payment.
Please join us on Wednesday evening for Barnes and Noble night from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The 8th grade class is also holding a car wash at corner of Edgewood Rd. and Heacock Rd. on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
Thursday is Take your Child to Work Day; if you and your child are able to take advantage of this opportunity, please remember to fill out and return the form here when you return. Even though your child will be marked absent (as indicated in last week's Weekly Update), it can be a great learning opportunity.
On Tuesday, April 28th, the second part of the Protecting God's Children lesson will be presented during religion; the lesson can be found here (begins on p. 4). Please only fill out the form sent home in last week's Weekly Update (here) to opt-out.
Have a great week!
