I hope that you are all having a pleasant weekend. This past Friday, we began the book Hound Dog True which came with our reading series, Journeys. Each of the fifth graders was given a copy of the book, but I also posted a PDF version on the ELA 5 Google Classroom since not all of the copies made it home yet (especially with absences).
On Tuesday, the students may wear crazy socks with their uniforms; this day is being sponsored by our Student Council as a reward for collecting so many pairs of socks, for the homeless, during the month of December.
Also, on Tuesday, the 5th graders will have the opportunity to exchange Valentines and enjoy a treat; we will celebrate last period (2:18 PM). Below is a list of the students' names for Valentine's cards; there are 26 students in our class:
Nicholas Neil Peter
Ronan Colin Nanea
Bradley Julia Anna
Sophia Kelly Ella
Lily Justin Finn
Mia Alex Faith
Erin Tyler Shane
Nora Colin Paige
Our Student Council is sponsoring a doughnut day on February 28th to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Orders can be placed here and are due this Friday, February 17th.
Please remember that there is no school on Friday (Faculty Retreat) or the following Monday (Presidents' Day).
Please also remember to keep clipping and sending in Box Tops; the current contest is underway.
Tickets are also on sale for the St. Ignatius Parish First Annual Night at the Races on Friday, February 24th; click here for the flyer and ticket information.
Please be sure to visit the 5th Grade page of the school website for copies of the newsletter, photos, forms, homework, and the assessment calendar, and have a great week!
