Monday- No School
Thursday- Gym (Gym Uniform); 9:00 AM Mass; Home and School General Assembly Meeting 7:00 PM
Friday- Yearbook; Stations of the Cross 2:30 PM
I hope that you are all enjoying the long weekend; on Friday, we had a great faculty appreciation breakfast and retreat talk by Fr. Dalin on Catholicism and art.
Thank you to Mrs. Badman, Mrs. LaMorte, and Mrs. Watkins for sending in snacks for the Valentine's Day Get Together (credit goes to Ricky for the name of the event).
Pictures from last week, including our making king cakes, are available on the 5th grade page. Each color group measured and mixed a batch of dough, and each student had the opportunity to kneed and braid a cake. We then ate, on Tuesday, (and shared with the 6th grade) the ones that turned out best.
We will be attending the 9:00 AM Mass on Thursday for Lent. We will also have Stations of the Cross on Friday at 2:30 PM in the Church; remember that the fifth graders will be the readers on Friday, 3/11.
Please join us on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM for the Home and School General Assembly meeting. Babysitting will be provided in the PreK-3 classroom, and your child will receive a dress down day on Friday if you attend.
The fifth graders have been participating in Mrs. O'Neill's Winter Reading Challenge and were in first place as of last Thursday. They can submit the books that they read using the form here. Also, the students may count their reading time (as long as it is done outside of school) for the Six Flags Read to Succeed program. All that the students need to do is read for six hours outside of school (since September) and fill out and submit a reading log, here or on the 5th grade page, to earn a free ticket to Great Adventure. The logs are due by Monday, February 29th.
Assessment folders will be sent home next Sunday.
Remember to visit the 5th Grade page of school website for picture, handouts, homework, the assessment/project calendar, and an archive of the 5th grade newsletters; have a great week!
