The students will be presenting their Taking a Stand projects during DARE class on Tuesday. Since he was unable to do so last week, Officer Omlor is going to try to bring a patrol car as well. He was, however, able to bring a police department K-9 officer and dog. The pictures from the day are on the 5th grade page of the school website.
DARE Graduation will be held on Thursday, January 21st at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium; the students should report to the Auditorium by 6:45 PM. That evening, the 5th graders need to wear their DARE shirt and school uniform.
To assist in planning the set-up and refreshments for the evening, please respond to the form here, by Wednesday, with the number of expected guests for each student.
Congratulations to Miranda and Olivia who were recognized as our Disciples of the Month for December. The virtue for January is generosity.
We have an open house on Tuesday from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM and 6:00 PM-8:00 PM for any families interested in touring the school and learning about admission for the 2016-2017 school year. Please invite anybody that you might know who is interested in attending St. Ignatius; we will also have an open house on Sunday, January 31st, after the 11:30 AM Mass.
For Catholic School Week, we will once again be assembling birthday boxes (two per homeroom) which will be donated to the Fishes and Loaves Pantry in Fairless Hills; the food pantry will distribute these kits to families in need so that they can provide a birthday party. A sign up sheet is here with the items that we need for each box (one for a 10/11 year old boy and one for a 10/11 year old girl). The items can be brought in any day through January 29th; we will be assembling the boxes on Monday, February 1st.
The full agenda for Catholic School Week (January 31st-February 6th) will be issued this week.
We are responsible for preparing the First Friday Mass for February. I will soon be asking for volunteers to read (this week) as well as participate in the offertory procession. The Mass readings for February 5th (Feast of St. Agatha) can be found here. I was mistaken last week: the celebrant for the Mass on February 5th will be Fr. Dalin. Any students who are unable to read at this Mass will also have the opportunity to read at the Stations of the Cross on Friday, March 11th as well as at the First Friday Mass on June 3rd.
Assessment folder links will be sent home next week.
Looking to next week, please remember that school will be closed on Monday and Tuesday January 18th & 19th.
The Family Dinner will be held on Friday, January 29th from 6:30 PM-9:00 PM in the Church Auditorium; tickets can be ordered here.
Please remember to visit the 5th Grade page of school website for picture, handouts, homework, the assessment/project calendar, and an archive of the 5th grade newsletters.
