I hope that you all had a great weekend.
Please remember, this week, to return either the spring pictures, payment, or make a payment online here. You will need the id number from your child's picture packet to pay online.
Terra Nova score reports will be sent home tomorrow. The first page displays your child's scores on each subject's subtest (reading, language, mathematics, science, & social studies) as well as a total battery score (which only includes reading, language, and math). The second page has the results of the aptitude test (In-View) which was given on the first day of testing.
Assessment folders will be emailed home this coming weekend.
For the month of May, (the Month of the Rosary), we will be praying the Rosary with the Kindergarten at 8:50 AM on Wednesdays.
Morning prayers will change now that May has begun; we will be praying The Memorare in place of The Apostle's Creed. We will also begin a novena to St. John Neumann in anticipation of Pentecost. Morning prayers can be found here.
During religion this week, we will discuss the Latin Mass that we attended last week, discuss Pentecost, and begin out study of Matrimony.
We will be attending the 9:00 AM Mass on Thursday for the Holy Day of Obligation, Ascension Thursday. We will also attend on the 9:00 AM Mass for First Friday; we will recognize two disciples of the month from 5th grade for self-control. I invite you all to attend if your schedule permits.
Looking ahead, all of the students are asked to attend the May Procession on Thursday, May 12th. The students need to wear their spring uniforms and meet in the classroom by 6:45 PM. In case of rain, we will assemble in the church auditorium.
The 5th grade students have been asked to wear a solid white shirt, jeans, and sneakers for the Spring Concert and Art Show on Monday, May 16th. This outfit will be worn for both the afternoon dress rehearsal and evening performance.
Our class is responsible for preparing June's First Friday Mass on Junes 3rd. It is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which is a solemnity. Therefore, there will be a second reading. The readings for the day can be found here; I will soon be asking for volunteers to serve as readers (First Reading, Responsorial Psalm, Second Reading, Prayer of the Faithful), altar servers, and gift bearers.
Remember to visit the 5th Grade page of school website for picture, handouts, homework, the assessment/project calendar, and an archive of the 5th grade newsletters.
Have a great week!
