Tuesday- Gym (Gym Uniforms)
Thursday- Pretzel of the Month
Dear 5th Grade Families,
Congratulations to Mackenzie and Madeline who were recognized as our disciples of the month for April; during the month of May, the virtue is being poor in spirit which comes from the first beatitude. It means to recognize and be aware of God's Love in our lives and to spend time each day growing in faith and love for God.
Also at last Friday's Mass, Isabella was also recognized as our grade level winner in the school's handwriting contest, and I commend her as well.
Terra Nova scores will be sent home on Monday. Our class scored higher (15-20 points) than the average for Bucks County in reading (91st percentile) , language (93rd percentile), and math (93rd percentile). The scores are important and are recorded in the students' record files, but that they are one way to measure achievement and are used along with other assessments (classwork, classroom tests, homework, teacher observation, parent observation, class discussions, etc) to measure student progress, plan curriculum, and compare our school's performance with peer schools.
For the month of May, in honor of our Blessed Mother, we will be praying the Rosary with KB on Wednesday mornings.
Based on emails and conversations over the past few weeks, I have the following chaperones for the June 8th field trip: Mrs. Sweitzer, Mrs. Stauff, Mrs. Vagra, Mrs. Perales, Mrs. Georgevich, Mrs. Falkenstein, Mrs. Cain, Mrs. Spera, Mr. Carroll, Mrs. Keating, Mrs. Choo, Mrs. Kenny, Mr. Snyder, Mrs. Serrano, Mr. Ferris, Mrs. White, and Mrs. Breslin. If your plans have changed or you have any questions, please let me know. I am going to send the final count in today to ensure that we have enough tickets. I will re-send the details as we get closer, but the times for the morning remain like the last trip (drop off begins at 7:45 AM, everyone needs to be there by 8:25 AM, and we depart on the 8:53 AM train).
The May Procession will take place on Tuesday, May 12th at 7:00 PM. The students should be dropped off to the 5th grade classroom by 6:45 PM. We will process to the front of the Church from the school; 5th grade will be toward the back of the line, and parents and guests are welcome to join the end of the line. In case of rain, we will meet in the Church Auditorium.
The Spring Concert and Art Show will take place on Monday, May 18th. The students need to be dropped off to the Church by 6:45 PM, and the show will start at 7:00 PM. After the show, the Art Show will take place in the school building. For the concert, the 5th graders need to wear a solid black shirt, jeans, and sneakers. The students should wear these clothes on Monday to school for the 1:00 PM dress rehearsal as well as for the evening performance.
Have a great week!
