Wednesday- Prayer Service 11:15 AM; Noon Dismissal
Thursday- No School- Happy Thanksgiving!
Friday- No School
I hope that you all had a great weekend! We will be discussing Advent in religion this week as well as the stories for Lessons 8 and 9 whose themes tie nicely into the beginning of Advent.
Wednesday, is a half day. Dismissal will be at 12:00 PM. CARES and bus transportation will be available.
Also on Wednesday, the Student Council will be leading a prayer service at 11:15 AM in the gym; they have asked that we each bring a non-perishable food item for their Thanksgiving prayer service. You can bring in the item any day this week.
Looking ahead, For the Christmas Concert, the 5th graders will be singing "We Three Kings;" Mrs. Schauder has asked that the students wear a shirt or a solid color and dress pants or a skirt. This outfit needs to be worn for the 1:00 PM dress rehearsal on Monday, December 14th as well as the evening performance at 7:00 PM. That evening, the students will need to be dropped off in the Church by 6:45 PM where they will be supervised by Mrs. O'Neill as I will need to be downstairs, onstage, during the concert.
Also in December, Santa's Secret Shop will be open Monday 12/7 through Wednesday 12/9. The 5th graders will be shopping on Monday, 12/7, from 1:30 PM-2:15 PM. If anybody is absent, he or she will be able to shop on Thursday morning.
Please remember to visit the 5th Grade page of school website for picture, handouts, homework, the assessment/project calendar, and an archive of the 5th grade newsletters.
I wish you all a very safe and happy Thanksgiving! I pray that you all enjoy the time with family whether you are traveling or remaining here at home. I am certainly thankful for our 5th grade class as well as out faith community here at St. Ignatius School. I will be leaving for a few days to visit my family in New Mexico, but I will return for school on Monday.
