I hope that you are all having an enjoyable weekend. Congratulations to Michael who will be representing our class on the Student Council. Also, thank you to Ava and Meredith for sharing their sewing skills with the class and repairing three of our class beanbags.
Please note that the students should wear their regular uniform on Wednesday. DARE will begin on Wednesday. On Wednesday, the students should wear their DARE shirt with the uniform pants, skirt, or shorts. The students do not need to wear their St. Ignatius golf shirt underneath the DARE shirt. Please keep in mind that there will be a DARE parent meeting on Thursday at 7:00 PM in our classroom.
On Wednesday morning, we will sign up for elective classes. The catalog will be emailed tomorrow evening, and we will review it in homeroom on Tuesday morning. The students will be notified of their choices on Thursday, and the first elective class session will be on Friday.
Friday is picture day; the picture packets/order forms will be sent home this week.
Please remember to keep clipping Box Tops; there is a collection bin in the front of the classroom by the students' mailboxes.
We will be heading to the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Thursday, October 5th. The itinerary for the trip can be found here. The cost will be 15.00 per student and 22.00 per chaperone (the fees will be billed through OptionC, and the students receive a subsidy through the Home and School Association). If you are interested in chaperoning, please use the form here by Monday. All chaperones must have current clearances; all of the requirements can be found on the Safe Environment page of the school website. Permission slips are in the students' mailboxes; an extra copy can be found here. The permission forms are also due by Friday, September 22nd.
On the chaperone form, you can also indicate if you are interested in joining us for the June 11th field trip to the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter & Paul and the Reading Terminal Market; I will ask again in the future to get a final count, however, since that date is still tentative until I hear back from the basilica.
Please be sure to visit the 5th grade page of the school website; on that page you will find the homework and long term assignment calendars, and pictures.
Have a great week!
