Congratulations to Colin and Sophia who were recognized as our Disciples of the Month for September; the virtue for October is gratitude.
5th grade will be going to the Book Fair to preview on Monday morning during Media Center (11:04 AM-11:52 AM) and will make their purchases on Wednesday during Technology (2:15 PM-2:35 PM). All families are also invited to shop together on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM. The full schedule for the other grades is available here.
We are holding a peanut butter and jelly drive during the month of October, as a school, to benefit Nutritional Development Services (NDS) which is an outreach of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
Please remember to return either KidStuff payments or the books by Friday. The proceeds from the sale go to the Home and School Association and are used for projects to directly benefit our students.
For the month of October, we will be praying the Rosary along with our kindergarten buddies at 8:50 AM on Wednesday. The students may either bring in their own Rosary or borrow one from the classroom.
Pretzel of the Month orders (to benefit the 8th grade class) can be placed here; the first pretzel day is Thursday.
On Friday, the Student Council is sponsoring a pink dress down day (for a donation) to benefit breast cancer research.
Trunk or Treat is coming on Friday, October 21st. You can order tickets here.
School hoodie orders are due by Friday; click here for the form.
Remember to send in BoxTops; the contest runs through October 27th. There is a green container (on the supply desk) for the students to place their BoxTops.
This coming Sunday, following the 11:30 AM Mass, we begin the observance of the Forty Hours devotion here at St. Ignatius. Evening prayer and a homily will take place at 7:00 PM on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Tuesday evening will conclude with a candlelight procession and social in the School Cafeteria. We will also be attending the 9:00 Mass on Monday, October 17th, to celebrate the Feast of St. Ignatius and will participate in adoration as a class.
I will have social studies tests corrected and posted over the next few days (we will also review in class) as well as update the testing schedule for the rest of October. This weekend, my parents, brother, and one of my sisters are in town, so we are enjoying the time together.
Please be sure to visit the 5th Grade page of the school website for copies of the newsletter, photos, forms, homework, and the assessment calendar.
Have a great week!
