Dear Parents and Students,
It was great meeting with you at our "Back to School Night"! I understand some of you were unable to attend last night, therefore, I wanted to reach all of you via e-mail.
What I covered at the meeting is outlined in the overview document. The "key" points pertain mostly to Homeroom business.
However, we discussed the fact that our 6th Grade Class will volunteer this year with "Aids for Friends". Our volunteer services will be held on a monthly basis beginning this Thursday, 09/10. In summary, "Aid for Friends" Group prepares, packages and distributes meals for residents who are unable to buy, cook/prepare meals for themselves. On an average, with the help of our students, the St. Ignatius Parish Chapter packages approximately 700-800 meals monthly. Mrs. Marcinkowski is the head of our Parish Chapter. In order for the entire class to volunteer, I need your help on the following:
a.) Permission Forms from Students' Parents.- I have sent home Permission Forms with the students today. Forms must be signed & returned to me no later than Tuesday, 09/08. Please indicate on the date section of the Permission form: "from September, 2015 to June, 2015".
b.) Five (5) Chaperones with Safe Environment Approved Clearances. - If you are able to volunteer for this Thursday's session, please go to the Google doc link below and sign up as soon as possible.
As discussed, if you would like to cook or bake a dish (with your child) and donate to "Aid for Friends", please utilize the Google doc link to sign up electronically.
In addition to our 1st session this Thursday, 09/10, the dates for our volunteer work with "Aid for Friends" are as follows:
If you have any questions or concern, please contact me immediately at email@example.com.
