Dear Parents of 8th Grade Students:
The end of the second trimester and the beginning of the third is quickly approaching. This is the time of the year when 8th grade students begin acting like they are finished. The faculty and I are asking for your help and support to see that the remaining time for the students is a happy and productive time. There is still much to be accomplished. We want our students to continue to grow and prosper as young Christian men and women. As they move on to high school we expect them to be respectful, caring and responsible students.
We strive to help them to know that for every action there is a positive or negative reaction or consequence. To further this part of their education we want to remind you and them of the "Rules of Demerits" that will be strictly enforced for their remaining time in St. Ignatius School. A log of all students will be kept by each teacher with a daily check at the end of the day by the homeroom teacher. Any demerit to be given that day will be recorded and an email sent home to the parent detailing why their child warranted a demerit that day.
Rules of Demerits:
A check is given for an action against school rules - such as no homework, incomplete assignments, unprepared for class, disrespect towards any school personnel, lack of self-control, etc.
School Privileges may include but not limited to:
In closing we hope that we will be able to count on you and the students to be supportive and cooperative in this plan to make the end of the school year a productive and happy time for all.
