Dear 8th Grade Families,
First, as a part of their study of church history and Latin, the 8th graders will be attending a Latin Mass on Thursday, April 28th at 1:00 PM. Fr. Harold McKale from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Doylestown (and a friend of Fr. Dalin) will be the celebrant. You are invited to join us if your schedule permits.
Fr. McKale gave a talk this past week about the Latin Mass, and he was complimentary of the attention and conduct of the class. I am looking forward to the Mass next week.
Also, I am beginning to prepare for the Spring Concert, which will be performed on May 16th. For this slideshow, it is a tradition to feature a picture of the eighth grader in a school setting when he or she was younger (PreK, K, 1st, etc.) and a picture in the same or similar spot and pose in the present. Some popular poses have been with parents at First Communion, a picture in front of the house on the first day of school, getting on the bus, or at a school function.
Please submit the photos to me, via email, by Monday, May 9th (the sooner the better). If the photo from when your child was younger is not digital, please send it to school, in an envelope addressed to my attention, and I will scan it and return it. If the picture was taken on the St. Ignatius Parish grounds, I can assist with re-staging the photo; please let me know.
The 8th graders have been working on their memory paragraphs, which will be featured in the yearbook. I am asking that the students submit them to me (on the Passion Play Google Classroom) by Friday, May 6th.
Finally, the 8th grade will have the chance to participate in a contest to design the yearbook cover. Students who are interested will be given a template this week; I ask that the covers be submitted by Monday, May 2nd.
I hope that you all have a great week; please let me know if you have any questions.
