Dear 7th and 8th grade Parents,
Before the holiday season is upon us, we wanted to reach out and share some information about the upcoming Passion play and your child's participation. We are encouraging all 7th and 8th graders to try out and become a part of this St. Ignatius tradition. We have all kinds of roles from singing and major speaking parts, to minor non speaking parts of people in the crowd, and we hope to see everyone tryout. Although it is a big time commitment for the students, the spiritual journey to the production is well worth it. The students create many memories and class camaraderie throughout the weeks of rehearsal and we will do everything we can to create a positive and memorable experience for all of them.
The Passion play will take place on Friday, April 7th and practices will run every Friday from 3:15 to 6:00pm starting in early January. Parent participation with chaperoning, costumes, set design, etc. is also expected.
We will be holding a parent meeting on Thursday, December 1st at 7:00pm in the cafeteria to discuss student and parent roles in the production. We ask every student to have a parent present at the meeting, which will run about 30 - 45mins.
Auditions will take place on Thursday, December 15th at 3:15pm in the old rectory. A special thanks to Father Brownholtz and Barb Shinkle for offering to help us with the auditions.
We look forward to seeing everyone on December 1st to answer all questions.
