School Closings

In the event it is necessary to close school due to weather conditions or other emergencies, an announcement will be made over major radio stations (Bucks County School Closing #763). 

We have several ways to learn if St. Ignatius is open, closed, or delayed due to inclement weather or other unforeseen happenings.

Parents are requested to listen to WBCB (1490 on the AM dial) for announcements.  

The Home and School Telephone Tree will be activated to reach parents announcing delays and dismissals when it is likely radio and television announcements have not yet been heard by parents. 

Unless otherwise announced, St. Ignatius will follow Pennsbury School District’s emergency closing announcements.  Parents are also encouraged to follow the Pennsbury Info Channel on their television for announcements.

In the event we dismiss school early due to weather conditions, each family (or family’s designate) will be contacted before we put a child on the bus.  If we cannot contact anyone, the child will be held at the school for the parent to pick up. 

Each family is responsible for providing adequate care and supervision once the child leaves St. Ignatius School.  We highly recommend each family discuss two or three options in the event the first plan is not viable.
