Frequently Asked Questions
 |
Below are some frequently asked questions we receive on a regular basis. If your question is not listed below or answered to your satisfaction, please contact us.
- When are the standardized tests administered?
Known as Terra Nova, these tests are used to develop our curriculum and do not factor into the students' grade point average (GPA). They are scheduled throughout the school year and vary according to grade:
- Grades four to eight: Mid-October
- Grades two and three: March
- How do I contact a teacher?

Teachers are most easily reached using e-mail; you can expect to receive a response within 24 hours when school is in session. For convenience, we have listed all e-mail addresses on-line and the Faculty / Staff e-mail list can be found in and downloaded from our forms library for quick reference.
- How do I obtain lunch tickets?
Lunches cost $3.35 each and tickets are sold in groups of 10 for $33.50. Lunch tickets can be ordered through the school, by using the lunch order form, found online in the Forms Library.

- What if I need to pick up my child before the scheduled dismissal time?
Please make sure you send in a note with your child or, in an emergency, call the school office, and indicate your need to shorten the school day. 3:00 pm is the cutoff for early dismissal.
- What procedures must I follow if my child wants to go home with another student?
Any changes in transportation, including bussed students and car riders, must be communicated in advance via e-mail or written note.
- When is it an appropriate time to visit High Schools?
Saint Ignatius schedules a day in November for students and parents to visit local Archdiocesan High Schools. This day will not be counted as an absence. If additional visits are needed, we suggest scheduling them during a time that doesn't conflict with the student's class hours.
- How will I be alerted of early dismissals or school emergencies?
Using e-mail and the Telephone Tree, Saint Ignatius makes every effort to communicate school day changes to parents and/or guardians. School closings and delayed openings will be posted on this website, as well as included in KYW 1060's list, as Bucks County School Closing #763.
- How do I pay my tuition?
Tuition can be paid in full directly to the school in August. Alternatively, SMART Tuition is a program designed to allow tuition payments to be spread throughout the year.
- How do I get my child's homework in case he or she is absent?
Homework can be obtained from the school by noon of the same day. Materials will be available for pickup outside the main office after 3:15.
