It's All About Encouragement.
Mrs. Kathryn Ginter leads the second grade class at Saint Ignatius of Antioch Catholic School assisted by Mrs. Jill Carlin . Through small reading and math groups as well as whole class instruction, the second grade students absorb a full academic curriculum with encouragement and caring guidance.

Known by her students as, "Mrs. G", Mrs. Ginter is thrilled to impart her extensive knowledge of Catholic education along with her lengthy experience as a teacher of all levels to the second graders at Saint Ignatius Catholic School.

Mrs. Ginter employs unique teaching techniques that build skills and confidence levels. For example, these fun math programs are designed to keep students sharp:

• Amazing Adders
• Super Subtractors
• Multiplication Maniacs
• Double Digit Dynamos

These creative learning programs, along with regular math drilling sessions, challenge students while keeping math fun and interesting.

Other programs, such as Students of the Week, Handwriting Club, and visits to the "Prize Box" that include coupons for special privileges, such as sitting at the teacher's desk, encourage students to excel without becoming fiercely competitive.

Second graders at Saint Ignatius of Antioch Catholic School learn to become focused, as they expand their knowledge base and increase their faith by preparing to receive two very important Sacraments:

1. The Sacrament of Reconciliation; and
2. The Sacrament of First Holy Communion.

Mrs. Carlin is the perfect partner to Mrs. "G", assisting with all aspects of second grade academics while keeping the students enriched and rewarded.

Focusing on test supervision, grading, and classroom interaction, Mrs. Carlin instills her extensive school experience and positive spirit in the second grade students.

Mrs. Carlin comes to Saint Ignatius with a strong background in elementary and preschool education. When not helping the second grade students, Mrs. Carlin lends a helping hand to the third grade class, by assisting in a multitude of academic and social areas.

With a minimum of one full academic year of education behind them, second grade students at Saint Ignatius of Antioch Catholic School quickly come up to speed.

Expectations increase as the school year progresses and the "amazing students" (as Mrs. "G" calls them) routinely impress her with their constant interest, dedication, and unsurpassed level of intellectual curiosity.
