Dear Pre-K Parents,
What a wonderful first three days back it has been for me! The children have done so well switching back to the original routine and had a great week!! I look forward to the week ahead as we continue to work and get ready for Kindergarten!
This week our letter of the week will be Zz. This will be our final letter of the week, and we will practice the sound and how to write it. We will also share all of the words that begin with this letter.
In Math, we will continue to work with Ordinal Numbers. We will be playing games and using cards to order ourselves in position from first to fifth and maybe even tenth. On Friday, we will take a brief assessment on this concept, so if you get time at home please practice this concept with your child.
In Religion, we will talk about Growing and Changing, We will discuss all of the ways we have grown this year and discuss the different things that help us to grow. It is hard to believe that in a few weeks, your children will be kindergarteners.
Our Science theme for the week will be plants. We will discuss how they too grow and change. We will also use the concept of plants to practice ordinal numbers. Your children will also be learning about greenhouses as they use them to grow lima beans and observe them. We will be reading several stories and creating many crafts.
This week on Tuesday, we will be attending a special assembly- Jump for Life. On Wednesday, we will be having Spring Picture Day. For this day, your children may dress up.
I am asking for your help in finding a stuffed animal that belongs to one of our classmates. We are looking for a stuffed white can with a pink bow tie around its neck. If this furry friend made it's way to your house, we ask that you please send it back! Thank you again for your help.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful week!
