Dear Pre-K Parents,
This week we find ourselves a busy week as we continue to work hard and learn new things. Our letter this week will be Ii. We will recall how this is a vowel and has two sounds, while we learn it is also a word. We will take the time to practice kid-writing using the word "I."
In Math, we will begin our work with one-to-one correspondence, as we prepare to compare groups and work towards writing our numbers and counting larger groups.
In Religion, we will study more of the wonderful things God has given us as we talk about Light. We will talk about God's gift of the sun and the moon and even discuss things at home that give us light.
In Reading, we will be working with The Mitten, as we study the characters, setting and sequence of a story. We will even act out the story using a life-size mitten. I will even take the time to read other mitten stories and practicing comparing.
This week, we will continue to work with our kid-writing as your children move along to write simple sentences.
On Wednesday, we will be having a special Show and Tell Day, so your children can bring in a special item from home that is their favorite.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful week, and I look forward to all of the learning that will be done.
