Uniforms
At Saint Ignatius of Antioch Catholic School, the school uniform is clean and simple, using warm tones that are both pleasing to the eye and coordinate with the school's colors.
Dress Codes
Uniforms may be purchased through the Flynn & O'Hara Uniform Company, some
gym items through school, and the uniform swap.
Students are to wear the complete uniform
each day of school. On gym day, the gym uniform, socks, and sneakers are to be worn all day.

BOYS Grades K-4
- White UNIFORM knit pull-over shirt with logo
- Khaki UNIFORM pants, twill
- Solid cardinal UNIFORM cardigan sweater with logo
- Beige socks
- Non-slip school shoes (sneakers are for gym day only)
- Dress brown, black tie shoes, or bucks (no sneakers or boot styles-sneakers are for gym
day only)

GIRLS Grades K-4
- White UNIFORM long or short sleeve blouse or white turtleneck
- Red / navy plaid UNIFORM jumper
- Cardinal knee-hi sock or tights
- Solid cardinal cardigan UNIFORM sweater with logo
- Non-slip brown or black school shoes with no higher than 1/2" heel (no sneakers or boot
styles-sneakers are for gym day only)

- OPTION: BANDED (from Flynn & O'Hara) white golf style shirt with logo (September
to October 15th , May & June)
- Cardinal knee-hi socks / tights
- UNIFORM cardinal vest or sweater (mandatory Oct. 15 to April 30) with logo
- Non-slip brown or black school shoes with no higher than 1/2" heel (no sneakers or boot

Other Important School Uniform Information
STUDENTS GRADES K- 4
September to October 15th, May and June
- Khaki uniform shorts and white golf style shirts with logo may be worn. These are not
required, but no other shorts may be worn.
- BELTS are to be worn with uniform slacks and shorts and shorts should come to the
knee.
SCHOOL SHOES
- School shoes will be defined as brown or black shoes (not boot or sneaker style) that have
no more than a 1/2 inch heel. Clogs, slides, and sandals are not permitted. All shoes with laces
must be tied at all times. With winter uniform knee-hi socks (not low tennis socks), tights must
be worn at all times.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASS
- Dress for gym class will be uniform shorts and tee shirt.
- White socks (low tennis socks
are NOT permitted) and tie sneakers are a must for gym class.
- Uniform sweatpants are worn
alone or over gym shorts.
LABELS
- All clothing, especially gym sweats, and personal items, and lunch boxes, should be
clearly labeled with the student's name. This not only prevents confusion over ownership but also
allows lost items to be returned.
GROOMING
- All students are expected to be well groomed during the school day.
- Uniforms are to be
clean and neat and in good repair, free of tears and holes.
- Both boys and girls are to wear their
uniform shirts tucked-in.
- Girls and boys must wear hair styles that are moderate and sensible and
adhere to the school guidelines. No student's hair may be artificially colored.
- Hairwraps are
not consistent with the uniform dress code. If they are a souvenir of a vacation, they may be worn for a week
and then must be removed.
- Boys' hair must not touch their shirt collars or cover their ears and
may not have defined lines (eg. long on top and shaved on the sides).
- Make-up, nail polish, and
jewelry, with the exception of watches or medals worn under shirts, are not permitted.
- Girls who
have pierced ears are allowed to wear one earring per ear, studs & 1/2" hoops only - no dangling
earrings. Boys are not permitted to wear earrings at all during school time.
- No tattoos or body
piercings are permitted.
TIIE PRINCIPAL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DECIDE IF A STUDENT'S GROOMING IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH SCHOOL NORMS.
- Uniform notices will be sent to parents when students are not in proper uniform. Three
notices for the same infraction will result in a detention.
DRESS DOWN AND PLAY DAYS
- POSITIVELY NO: T-shirts with questionable writing or sayings, tank tops, or spaghetti
straps, sandals or clogs, hats (unless it's a special dress down)
- Socks must be worn at all
times.
- Shirts must be long enough to be tucked in.
- Midriff cannot show and shorts should
come at least to the top of the knee to be considered acceptable.
- Pants or shorts may not have
anything written across the backside.

How to Purchase Uniforms
- At School: Flynn & O'Hara visits Saint Ignatius Catholic School each April to measure students and take orders. Items are either shipped or you can visit their location for pick-up.
- At the Store: Flynn & O'Hara is located in Philadelphia and open all year round to accommodate students' uniform needs. Most items are stocked and ready for purchase. Those not in stock will be sent to you or held for pick-up.
- On-line: You can purchase items from Flynn & O'Hara 24/7 using their website: http://www.flynnohara.com.
