School Communications

The OptionC School Management System keeps track of student grades, billing of all school fees (except tuition) attendance, discipline records, and demographics.

Each student and parent is given a log-in at the beginning of the year to access OptionC. The student account can access that individual student's grades. The parent account can access each child's information without a separate log-in.

St. Ignatius uses the OptionC electronic communication system to send out email messages to inform parents as well as send out broadcast telephone and text messages to inform parents of emergency school closings due to weather or other circumstances.

St. Ignatius uses ConstantContact to send out a weekly newsletter (the Weekly Update on Wednesdays and Weekly Reminders on Sundays) as well as other routine announcements from teachers and administrators.

Family Contact Information
School Closings

Parents are informed of school closings through the OptionC Parent Alert system and by checking the school homepage. St. Ignatius follows the Pennsbury School District when it comes to closing; if Pennsbury has cancelled classes or has a delay, we will follow them. We also reserve the right to close school even if Pennsbury does not if we judge that the conditions are unsafe for our families to travel to school.

2-Hour Delays

In the event of a two-hour delay, school begins at 10:30, and the AM CARES program will open at 9:30. It is often possible that Pennsbury will start on time (in which case St. Ignatius will) and other districts (Neshaminy, for example) will have a delay; if this is the case, your child will not be marked tardy if you choose to send him or her on the bus from your home district. Lunch service will be available (unless otherwise notified via OptionC), but orders need to be placed by 10:00 AM; there will be no AM Pre-K.

School Closing During the Day

In the event that school closes early, we will send out a message broadcast. Please note that we will set a dismissal time, but sometimes buses will arrive later than that depending on the district. Since we have a limited amount of telephone lines and staff, please do not call the school unless you need to make arrangements other than your child's usual dismissal routine. It is a good idea to discuss with your child what will happen in the event of an early dismissal, especially in the primary grades. There will not be CARES if school closes early.
