To bring together the school family to spend time together and make lasting friendships and memories, the Home and School Association sponsors events during the school year. Below are some of these events; during the year, more information will be sent home and posted on the school website with specific details.
New Parent's Coffee (September)
The New Parent Coffee is an opportunity for new families to come together, meet each other, and talk with staff members and other families about St. Ignatius. Held in the beginning of September it is an opportunity to meet the other parents in the school as well as have any questions answered. Representatives from the school administration, faculty, parish, and Home and School Association also attend this event.
Family Movie Night (Fall/Winter)
Held either in the auditorium or outside (depending on the weather), the Home and School Association shows a free family movie as well as sells snacks. Families are welcome to bring chairs, blankets, and snacks to share in this fun evening.
School Dances (October/December/February/May)
The Home and School Association sponsors dances on four Friday nights from 7:30-10:00 for students in grades 7 & 8. Students enjoy a DJ, snacks, and are allowed to bring a guest to all but the last dance. For the last dance, the 6th graders are invited. Dances are chaperoned by 7th and 8th grade parents and school administrators.
Trunk or Treat (October)
On a Saturday evening before Halloween, families bring their cars and decorate them and turn the parking lot into a safe and fun place for the kids and adults to socialize, get candy, and enjoy the autumn weather.
Turkey Bingo (November)
On a Sunday before Thanksgiving, the church auditorium is set up for bingo games for our families. Families can play regular bingo for a turkey, special bingo rounds for themed prizes, and participate in the basket raffle. Food is served, and door prizes are also given out; this is one of our largest and best attended events.
Santa's Secret Shop (December)
The students have an opportunity to shop for gifts for family and friends; the Home and School stocks the shop with a selection or gifts, and the students can wrap their presents and take them home. The younger students are assisted by students in the upper grades.

Talent Show (January)
Students, faculty, and parents alike look forward to the annual talent show which takes place during Catholic Schools Week. Individual students, groups of students, as well as entire classes have the opportunity to exhibit their many talents to the St. Ignatius community.

Swim Party (June)
Home and School holds a swim party at the Brookside Swim Club to celebrate the end of the year. There is swimming, play on the playground, and ice cream. The party is usually held on the first Friday in June which is a faculty meeting day.
Field Day (June)
Each June on the last Tuesday before the end of school, the Home and School Association and our gym teacher, assisted by the 8th grade students, put together field day which includes a morning of competition between the red and white teams which culminates in the 8th grade tug of war, basketball, and volleyball games.
After the games, Home and School provides a hot dog and hamburger lunch for the students outside, ice cream, and an assembly in the gym. Finally, the students have time to sign yearbooks in the afternoon.
